What is the Spraberry Oil Field? The Spraberry Trend is an oil field located in West Texas.
The Spraberry Oil Field is located on the east side of the Permian Basin and can be found above the Dean Formation and Wolfcamp
Shale. Companies are snatching up acreage at a high rate because of the huge oil potential. Some people refer
to the Spraberry Oil Field as the Spraberry Shale or the Spraberry Oil Play. New technology such as horizontal
drilling techniques have caused oil producers to drill some high pay wells. The oil wells are producing so much
oil that some of the mineral rights acres are said to be going for $15,000-$20,000+.
The Permian Basin is a large area of Oil located in New Mexico and North West Texas. The Spraberry Oil Field is located on the eastern
side of the oil formation while we have the avalon shale, bone spring, and wolfcamp shale on the western side. Companies that are drilling both the Spraberry Field and the Wolfcamp Shale are calling it the
Wolfberry. Expect to hear a lot more out of the Spraberry Oil Play in the coming months and years ahead.
